How many months off are you planning to give yourself before starting this fall?

I quit 7 days before I moved, and then had just under a month in my new city before school started.
But I have a mortgage, so it's not like I can just freeload on my dad.

Damn, I was thinking about leaving my job mid-June/beginning of July. These posts give me slightly more motivation to stay.

Giving notice this Friday, then working a few more weeks (unless I get fired on the spot) before funemployment begins. I've gone back and forth on whether I'm making a mistake not working longer and saving a couple more paychecks, but ultimately these will probably be the last months in my life (at least until I retire) where I can have 0 responsibilities. Once law school starts, I'll be lucky if I can get even 2 consecutive weeks off for a looooooong time.

I think I'm going to quit about a week or two(?) before? I already live in the area and I'll already have switched apartments by then, which shouldn't have been too stressful, but it will probably drain a lot of my resources.
Though it may depend on when loans kick in.

I'll hit 5 years with my organization the August before I leave. I'm going to make that, although I may move earlier in the summer and just fly back for a few days. Depends how the dates work out.

I'm working up until the week school starts, thanks to the fact that we can't hold a jobs 1L. (Not that I'd want to, though.)

If I move out of the state, then my job will end at the end of July. If I stay in the same state, then I'm keeping my job & decreasing my hours.

Exactly this. Plus I want to save as much as possible to put towards tuition. I'm moving early August so I'll have a week or two off before school starts to get used to the new city and relax.

I was thinking of doing this despite not having a lot of savings at all and budgeting so that moving expenses wipe out what savings I'll have but all the other posts in this thread are making me feel lazy for wanting to do so.

This was totally my plan until I played with a debt calculator.

Put in my 2 weeks last week. Thinking about going out into the woods for a month or two and then ride couches around the country till i feel like getting a new place. Moving out of this one at the end of the month.

I have to stay through July 31, but haven't decided if I'll just bolt then or earn at least 1 maybe 2 more paychecks... How much time are you guys thinking you'll need in a new city before school starts? Alternatively, how much time do you think you'd need if you stay in the same city for school? (just moving to a cheaper apt closer to the school)
