For those interested in attending graduate school - in any field - in which GPA arguably matters more than for those simply looking to work (and never attend grad school), do you guys purposely choose courses that are easy to get high grades in in order to protect or boost your GPA?

And, similarly, what about avoiding classes with known tough professors or tough material for the same purposes? What are your philosophies on this?

If your goal is to get into a good law school then I would say take the easy classes for the higher GPA. But at the same time, if you can't handle difficult classes then you might be chewed up and spat out in 1L.

Ideally you should take difficult courses, which you are interested in. That way you will be challenged, but still 1) learning something, and 2) be able to do well in the class because it holds your interest.
