10 years from now, what do you think the T20 will look like? Will it have the same schools shuffled around different, or will there be some schools that break into the T20 or T14 that aren't currently ranked that high? What do you think and why?

No. It will be the same, or at least very close to it, in 20 years. Preftige will drive the top schools to stay the top school.

You could see different schools in the top 25-50 range, but Top 20 is going to be the same

A more important question is whether slight fluctuations in rankings will have any effect on employment prospects. It wont.

Why is Minnesota #19 ahead of GWU, WUSTL, ND? That's the one that I cannot get a grip with.

While I don't think you'll see any radically new players in this range, I think its pretty well established that the rankings in this range are like pulling balls from a loto machine. They make sense in bands but not really in a strictly numerical sense.

Because the rankings are stupid? It doesn't matter where these rank in relation to each other.

Also, the only reason I can think that you're surprised by this is you're conflating lay prestige with quality of a law school.

That could be true, but I thought that's what the rankings were all about: conflating lay prestige.

I think Irvine has a shot. Are there any good schools planning on starting a law school?

Ohh, you admit the rankings are dumb but you want to speculate about them anyway? Proceed.
