How will a W that counted as hours attempted but not earned

be counted by LSAC?

I've heard it going both ways, a non-punitive W or an F.

Does anybody have any anecdotal experiences regarding this matter? The language on the LSAC site really can go both ways.

The question restated: Will LSAC treat a Withdrawal that counts as attempted credits on the transcript as an F in calculation.

Call them and ask. Or submit your transcripts. Or get your registrar to change it somehow-this last one is probably really unlikely.

There are too many differences between schools for anyone to give you a reasonable prediction.

At my school, if you drop and you where failing at the time you get a WF (Withdrew Failed), if you drop and you have atleast a D and its done within the first 12 weeks of the 16 week semester, you get a W (withdrew). WF will count toward your GPA, but W will not.
