Re: LSAC GPA Question (almost silly)
it's credits.jimmierock wrote:Hello,
I was wondering does LSAC simply count how many letter grades of each you have and average them onto their GPA scale or is it by year? e.g.,
Year 1 GPA: 3.67
Year 2 GPA : 4.2...
Year 3 GPA: 4.2...
and they average the years instead?
my gpa was the exact same as my college gpa because there's no a pluses.

Re: LSAC GPA Question (almost silly)
cool thanks, the reason I asked because my friend applied for med school and they calculate the GPA per year thing. I was bit worried, because I didnt do so well first year. Thanks again for a quicky reply.

Re: LSAC GPA Question (almost silly)
Actually they do break things down by year. That's not the main number they report, but they do include a "Transcript Analysis" that looks like this:
This would be for an applicant who goes to Acme U for undergrad, puts down some courses at State U in the summer between Jr and Sr year, and goes to grad school at Ivy U. (ETA and who also has twelve hours of AP credit or maybe 9 hours AP and 3 hours P/F their freshman year)
The numbers are made up, so if they don't maintain logical sense throughout, it's just fudge error.
