Does not paying seat deposit = Withdrawing?

Sorry if this is common knowledge or if it is in another thread, but I could not not find the answer.
I put down a $750 seat deposit at the school I now plan to attend . I withdrew from the schools whose waitlists I was on.
Im just wondering if not paying other seat deposits that have already past is the same thing as withdrawing .
I would like to withdraw from the other schools that accepted me, but I only want to send the "thank you, i wont be attending" email if my actions of not paying the deposit have not already withdrawn me.
Thanks your replys!

Yes, and where the f are you going that requires a $750 deposit? That's steep.
Also, replies.

That's insane!
Is it $500 and then another $500 later or all at once?
The highest one I've seen is GW where if you get in through that full-ride ED program it's $1500 due in January. But I thought that was far outside the norm. Most of the places I was admitted were between $300 and $500.

NU is $750, and by deferring a year, I had to pay it three times.

Eeesh!
Well, I'm glad then that as a UMich summer starter I only had to pay $300 once! Those are some outrageous deposits. Like what's the difference it's not like you're less committed if you only have to pay $350 or maybe you would be but that's just whoa.

On the bright side, 1.2% of my total cost of attendance is taken care of!

It's to make sure you're still committed. As a deferred UMich summer starter for 2013, I had to pay $600 now and another $300 by December. It totally makes sense to me and the UMich deposit amount is reasonable, but yeah - anything above $350 seems outrageous seeing as a lot of applicants are still in undergrad.
