Therapy and C&F

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but thought I'd give it a try.

Long story short, I'm going through a bunch of personal stuff in my life. Just got out of a long term relationship, and trying to deal with that "properly," -- i.e. not jumping right into a relationship like I have every other time. Dealing with being single (I have ALWAYS been in a relationship with someone) and being ok with it, dealing with childhood problems...lots of things I want to deal with before going into law school and all the stresses that come along with it. I want to be mentally healthy, and beat any feelings of sadness/negative feelings now, rather than bottle everything up.

However, I am afraid to go to therapy (therapy, but not a psychiatrist - just someone to talk everything out and get feedback and strategies; I'm not at a stage where I need medication) for fear of how it might affect C&F later. I don't know if they will later be able to see that that I went to therapy, how long, etc.....just confused on what to do.

Any feedback would be terrific.

Thanks.
