I'm wondering if there is a list of schools that have 100% finals vs. schools that have midterms.

Some people like knowing that there entire grade does not depend on one exam.

It varies by professor at my school (although the vast majority of them base the final grade 100% off of the exam). Not sure if other schools have a policy about how the professors have to grade.

At my school, the professor decides. My section had some midterms, other sections had zero midterms.

Totally up to professor at my school - but it doesn't and shouldn't matter. Even if a prof does give a midterm they are usually only worth 10-15% of the whole grade, so don't really impact your final grade enough to matter once you're in the forced curve territory of the final exam.

Don't base your school on whether there's midterms or not.
