Re: Obnoxious Law School adverts
My favorite advertisements:
"Southwestern Law School: 100 years of Diversity" along with an invitation to attend "Diversity Day."
CSU Ohio: "You get a law degree so you can PRACTICE LAW."
Atlanta's John Marshall Law School: A picture of a bow tie. Somehow they guessed my love of bow ties.
Liberty is good about sending me a Christian-themed postcard each week. My favorite was the one that has a Constitutional Law book, Torts book, Civil Procedure book, and Property law book in a pile with the Holy Bible on top. Simple and effective.

I got that one too...I couldnt believe they would send something that expensive to everyoneScotusnerd wrote:Anyone have any stories about ridiculous advertisements they've gotten from various schools?
Mine has to be this huge thing from Florida International University. It's huge, completely in color, and about 40 pages in length. It includes a course list, bios on all the professors, stunning visuals of their school and messages from the president. I know where my tuition money would go!
If I had a digital camera I'd post a picture of this monster.

This thread needs a poll. But that poll only needs McGeorge.

That's...kinda creepy. And almost stalker-ish. So unsubscribing means the emails don't stop? Good to know.YankeeFan2 wrote:I did the same thing....but my subject line said, "Hi. We've missed you. So I think unsubscribing means that they have figured out that you REALLY do use the address. I wish I would have just kept deleting them now.vpintz wrote:That's...kinda creepy. Good thing I didn't call them to complain! Then the phone calls would start!

It takes them a little more than a day to remove you... but that's still creepy.

U Cincinatti just informed me that if I move to Kentucky, I can qualify for in-state rates at Cincinatti.
If all I cared about were in-state rates, I'd go to my local in-state T1 - rather than commute from Kentucky to Cincinatti

I thought if I just ignored the emails from university of Phoenix the would stop. I was wrong. After about six emails telling me they were waiting for me to call about my potential 30,000 dollar scholarship I finally replied that I was definitely not interested.

Nicole from Florida Coastal Law is stalking my life. "I sent you an email, did you get my email, I want to tell you about, did you get my email...". I eventually responded that I wasn't applying this cycle, woke up the next morning to,"Let me tell you about our law focus areas.".

I occasionally get e-mails and mail asking me to consider a shitty law school. I'm a 2L...at Michigan. Give me a break.

The law schools I've replied to saying I'm applying the next cycle keep flooding my inbox. Nobody has responded to my original email, but they'll send tons more asking me if I got their email. Obviously I did, because I responded

The University of Maine. The subject line is "Lobstahs and Law School" -- note the spelling error with the attempt to sound like an accent!
Yeah, with all of your free time you could check your lobster traps!

Ugh, I HATED that one. I still don't understand the point of that email. It made me want to apply even less (and by "less" I mean I was officially in negative territory).YankeeFan2 wrote:The University of Maine. To be fair, they do offer opportunities to engage our academic interests in lobster law via classes at their Marine Law Institute (LinkRemoved) and through their Ocean and Coastal Law Journal.YankeeFan2 wrote:The University of Maine.
