It seems like that is the field of law that has the most jobs currently, but I think I remember reading that one had to be a science major during undergrad to do it. Any thoughts or advice?

Although it is possible to practice IP law without a BS in science/engineering, it is MUCH more cumbersome and rarely practiced.

Depends on the type of IP practice. Soft IP and lit do not require, but it helps to have. But you can do just fine in soft IP.
