Here's a good rule of thumb: once you have submitted a completed application and gone into review, permit yourself to send one communication for every communication an admissions office sends to you.
In this case, the adcom has communicated that you are on "hold" for further review (at some schools, this is essentially a WL); this permits you to return some type of communication (resume update, notice of new award, new LOR, grade change, LOCI, new LSAT score, additional essay/addendum, etc.). But be judicious in the amount and type of information you send. Moreover, you do not have to return communications every time the adcom sends a post completion communication to you. Just know that you should certainly avoid communicating with the admissions office more than it communicates with you.
Something else you must gage is whether or not you will be on any summer waitlists. If you are, you need to save your guns, i.e. have some valid excuse to call attention back to your file so that the adcoms will keep you in mind when they seek replacements for admitted candidates who choose other schools. They don't have time to pour through all of the active summer files to search for replacement candidates, so they typically consider those with new information or LSAT scores, which are obviously at the top of the pile because savvy applicants saved something for the summer.
Applying to law school is a 12-18 month process, and you need to have a little extra material to send last minute to keep your file at the top. Again, be judicious. DO NOT send an LOCI, two new essays, two new LOR's, and a notice of a new award over the summer. You'll come off as having been disorganized.
