How is 1L GPA/Rank Calculated? Please Help

Hi everyone, I would like to know how 1L GPA and Class Rank is calculated
If you were to take an elective your 2nd semester, or if you were a spring start who took an elective in the summer, is that calculated into your GPA and 1L class rank?
