Hi- so now that I'm finally set for law school, I've moved on to looking for a summer job/internship. Unfortunately, I do need it to be paying, and I'm not sure how easy it will be to get a legal-related job right now. Last summer, I worked in marketing, and I loved it. Sure it isn't what I want to do full time, but I enjoy it.. and I need money.

My question is, would it look completely random during (I guess it's 2L) interviews? I know that work experience is important, but I'm still in college right and don't have too many connections, so I feel kind of limited right now.

Thanks guys!

I'd do whatever you can to make as much money as possible even if it's bartending.

if u r going straight through, 2L interviewing will be based 92% on ur 1L grades and 8% other things, maybe work experience. But if they ask about any job at all, it will be about ur 1L summer job.

if u don't go direct and work after college doing anything worth doing, that job will take up all space on resume. and if it doesn't then it's not worth doing and u should go straight through to law school.
