Top Law Schools

I finished applying to most of my schools by the end of October. At that time, when I sent in my application, I had virtually no "legal" experience -- I've never worked as a paralegal, never been a member of any law clubs or groups, nor had I worked with any lawyers ever. All my experience came in hard sciences.

Fortunately, I have recently started conducting some health law research with a professor from my law school with strong promise of a publication in the future. Is this something I should contact schools about and update them with information? If so, how would you recommend I do it -- should I just write a small blurb in the e-mail or send an updated resume with only one change?

I don't think so. It sounds like you've been doing some collaborative research for maybe a month now? I think that would come off as desperate if you tried to include it before anything has even been published, especially because legal experience is in no way required for law school.

Just my opinion, I'd like to hear what others have to say.

Can't hurt, but not entirely sure it will help. IMO: save it in case you get WL'd anywhere. By that time, you'll be further along in the process and might be able to offer something more concrete than the chance of publication.

OP, they just got your applications, and it really isn't such a game changer. I would wait till at least after New Years, and preferably until after you get waitlisted as part of an OCI.

Thanks for the advice everyone -- as per your suggestions, I'll wait until I undoubtedly get wl'd at some of my top choice schools, and hopefully this will put me over the hump.

Its still good to be learning more about the law before you commit to law school.
