Applying in the Fall AND retaking in December

Post by 29384 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 3:00 pm

I took the October LSAT and got a good score (175), but a score lower than the scores I was getting on every practice tests (179-180). Law School Predictor suggests I could get into a number of schools I am interested in, but not a handful of reaches (because of my low GPA). Can I apply to the schools I think I have a chance at in November, then retake in December and apply to a few more schools in January?
1) Will the schools I apply to in November only consider the score submitted at the time of the app?
2) Will schools I applied to before retaking see my retake as a negative?
3) Will schools know I retook the test? Does my second score get automatically sent to schools I have an active app with?

from what I understand, you can apply and let school know that you are retaking in December in an addendum and a phone call.
