Convince me to make an east coast trip to visit law schools?

The only LS I'm applying to that I've been to is Northwestern (I was so stupid I didn't even visit Chicago while I was there - doh!)
From where I am, total expense is going to be around $500 including flights, hotels, bus rides. What do you guys think, waste of money or something that will help me in my decisions?
My numbers are 3.4/180/167, 2 yrs WE and normal softs, nonURM hispanic. So I think I could be making tough decisions down the line. I am planning to visit, UVA, NYU, CLS, Penn, and GULC at the minimum

Rushing through 5 cities in 4 days doesnt sound like fun to me
But I'm trying to avoid going for the thrills either way.

Ahh guess it's not for everything. Sounds like a dream to me though!
Anyway maybe it would be a better idea to visit in the Spring after/if you've gotten in. You'll def have better weather anyway. If you're in DC (Georgetown specifically) make sure to grab dinner at Filomena. It's like pasta made with cocaine.

I've been to DC before, just never really went to Georgetown.
Sounds good, maybe I'll hold off for now

Probably a good idea to wait until after you've gotten in places. That said, northeast road trips aren't that bad logistically unless you get stuck in traffic... then it's just miserable.

Having lived in VA, I've never once driven through or around DC's highways and NOT come to a complete stand-still. Not even once. The place is where all driving enjoyment goes to die.

I don't mean to be rude. But what is the point for that? To narrow down the targets? The cost of travel would outweighed the application fee you save. I think it makes more sense after you've got admitted by some of them.

I drove from Rockville to National Harbor via the beltway every weekday for a year. Don't complain to ME about being at a standstill!

2) See who accepts
3) Narrow down schools based on non-first hand factors
4) Visit remaining schools
5) ????
6) Profit
(Also, your 180 was your second LSAT, yes?)

This. Not to mention that once accepted there are admit days and with them possible travel reimbursements.

Ah yes, forgot about those. And people with decent GPAs and perfect LSAT scores have a tendency to be successful negotiating those, esp. from the school you end up attending.

you should base this trip on accepted students days where you could get comped some of the travel and then add in visits to schools that you are wait listed at. I'm pretty sure visiting wait listed schools is helpful and there is a bit of anecdotal evidence on here to support it. I also saw that Vandy wasn't on your list. They pay for all of your travel and hotel and provide a pretty fun weekend in a great city.
