I will just disclose everything. They were all during high school anyway and had to do with my conflicting schedule with dance practice.

....I was fired from footlocker for always being late... I was also fired from a hair salon for always being late. Do I have to list these?
You don't think employers keep records? Especially a big national chain like Foot Locker.Tainted_Praise wrote:How in the world are they going to know if I got fired or not?
You need to disclose it for C and F purposes because when you go to get certified by the bar they are going to check to verify your entire employment history. Just disclose it, law school admissions aren't going to care outside of maybe HYS.Tainted_Praise wrote:How in the world are they going to know if I got fired or not?

Do you really want a lie showing up in C&F when you're trying to pass the bar? Just answer the stupid question honestly.
It's probably not going to hurt you much...but maybe think about growing up a little. It's really not that hard to not get fired.Tainted_Praise wrote:rinkrat19 wrote:You don't think employers keep records? Well I've been fire FOUR times... From FOUR different places... Fuck my life.
The school will probably not ever know. Being admitted to the bar, however, involves a complete background check with employment history, and if they catch something you didn't disclose on your school apps, you are fucked. Providing false information on documents can disqualify you from having 'good moral character.'Tainted_Praise wrote:How will they KNOW that I have been fired?
Jesus Christ, this. They will not care one bit about you being fired. I got fired for calling a girl a b*tch on the job and I don't plan on hiding it. As long as it is not related to lying/stealing, they usually don't care. The bigger issue would be hiding it and getting caught. You would be in a world of hurt for that.rinkrat19 wrote:You don't think employers keep records? Note the "or" after the volunteer position and the discharged from the armed forces. I think you have to treat the question more like this:
1. Have you ever been discharged from any employment or volunteer position?
2. Have you ever been discharged from the armed forces under conditions other than honorable?
I would suggest that the issue of "dishonorable discharge" "or other than honorable" only applies if you have been discharged from the military, since that is considered a military term. In the civilian world, you do not get "dishonorable discharges". You get fired or laid off, etc. People get discharged from the military for many reasons (medical, contract served, etc), so they want to clarify they only need to know about the other than honorable ones.
If you have been discharged from any employment or volunteer position, you do not get to decide whether it was honorable or not (in the military, they tell you if it is or not), you disclose and explain. So yes, disclose the firings from the hair salon & foot locker and explain the reasons for the dismissal.
Idk, I agree one time, but being fired 4 times is kind ofromothesavior wrote:Jesus Christ, this. They will not care one bit about you being fired. I was in high school. I was immature...They were all between the ages of 16 and 17. I'll just list them.ThreeRivers wrote:Idk, I agree one time, but being fired 4 times is kind ofromothesavior wrote:Jesus Christ, this. They will not care one bit about you being fired.
