From the gf, a rising 2nd year corp member: "If you are a new corps member in the city, they tell you the partner school you have to attend and to take 6 classes in order to get your secondary or primary certification. Once you are finished with your 1st year and certification, you're obligation for Teach for America is finished and you have the option of completing your masters degree (at the partner institution or transferring to another, probably better, school) or saying see ya."wolverinelove11 wrote:Are you required to enroll in a M.Ed. or Education graduate program through the local partnership university as a corps member?
I think it depends on the state. My friend is a current corp member as well and all she had to do was attend some TFA training and take a standardized test in order to get certified. She's in a pretty high need state.Transferthrowaway wrote:From the gf, a rising 2nd year corp member: "If you are a new corps member in the city, they tell you the partner school you have to attend and to take 6 classes in order to get your secondary or primary certification.
