I should clarify, I am familiar with facebook, but no longer use it. I had one 2006-09 and logged on several times a day during that time.
I deleted my facebook profile a couple years ago to ease the process of a breakup. It helped for sure. Not hearing about, or knowing what, an ex is doing was good for both of us. There were some other things I never liked about facebook, but privacy was never the main issue.
I never felt the need to re-activate it after that, even after everything blew over. I might consider re-activating when I go to LS and don't know anyone.
