I was in the same position b/c of a high speeding citation. The best thing to do is to tell the school about it but make sure they understand that you haven't gotten a final disposition. I wrote an addendum explaining the date of the citation, facts, court date, as well as the likely disposition based on my lawyer's experience. You should ask your lawyer about this as well.

Idk what BC's policy is but most schools seem to have a policy that you need to update them on things like this even after admission. I can't imagine they would rescind the offer unless they really don't like you since what you did is eligible for a CWOF. No one on TLS can give you a definitive answer so the best thing to do is speak with your lawyer.

I guess another question is does having a misdemeanor on your record make it hard to pass the moral and fitness investigation the ABA does - and are there crimes that are worse than others?

I don't think a simple misdemeanor should affect you at all. I think they would be more worried about something like fraud or embezzlement.

On a side note: does anyone else find it ironic that the ABA is investigating our moral character?

I would think crimes of dishonesty were probably worse than others. Regarding OP, I think honesty and full-disclosure is probably the best policy. It's always better to tell on yourself than to wait for someone else to do it.
