The military is certainly safer than teaching in most urban schools.mattviphky wrote:which one offers a better soft iyo
The commitment's 8 years when counting reserve time wherease TFA is 2 years. Basically you would have to wait at least 4 years and up to 8 if military and since there are a few wars going on I guess it's really up to you to decide if you're more concerned with domestic or foreign terrorists.Desert Fox wrote:The military is certainly safer than teaching in most urban schools.mattviphky wrote:which one offers a better soft iyo

This article doesn't specify which MOS's take that long. Even during the heigth of the war in Iraq, it took about six-eight months for certain MOS's to get a Basic Training slot because their AIT schools were full/filled up the next couple of months and the Army doesn't want a bunch of Basic Training graduates stuck in limbo before their AIT school starts. I guarantee that common MOS's such as infantry, MP, armor, etc. can go to a recruiter, meps, and leave for basic training in between three and five months (common length during the height of the Iraq war).Rotor wrote:And apparently a year just to get to boot camp.ran12 wrote:The commitment's 8 years when counting reserve time wherease TFA is 2 years. No word on whether there's a delay for folks going to Officer Candidate School.

Thinking about attempting to assasinate Assad. Any boost?Bildungsroman wrote:This guy is fucking hardcore about picking up some softs.
I'm guessing this was an academic question that settles a bet between friends. For someone to actually choose between the two as a means of getting into law school would be beyond foolish.bk187 wrote:It totally makes sense to pick between the military and TFA based on improving your law school admission chances.
Pretty much. I'm military and a friend is peace corps, i wasn't really asking for my own benefit, just putting it out there and seeing what people throw back. i hear a lot about tfa on here, and so i used that.dailygrind wrote:bk187 wrote:It totally makes sense to pick between the military and TFA based on improving your law school admission chances.
I don't think it is either. short of doing something absolutely incredible and unique, the only thing softs are good for is breaking ties.bjsesq wrote:ayup.bk187 wrote:It totally makes sense to pick between the military and TFA based on improving your law school admission chances.
Also: the miltary as a soft ain't shit anymore, man.
