Top Law Schools

A friend of mine said that when applying to Law Schools (or any graduate type school) they look at only your upper division GPA. I always thought it was your total cumulative GPA (i.e. lower and upper division classes).

Is this the case? Do some schools include both in GPA calculations and others only upper division?

Any clarifications is appreciated.

Schools only care about your LSAC GPA. This is the cumulative GPA from your ug institution + all college level classes taken before completing your first BA.

This should give you a good idea of what your GPA would be.

Note: LSAC considers all classes that show up on your transcript(s). So, if you failed a class and retook it, both the original grade and the retake grade, if they both appear on your transcript, are counted even if your undergrad "forgave" the first grade.
