will my undergrad transcript ever be important after i matriculate to law school?

two classes, two finals next week. in one class, i'd have to get a 95 or above on the final to get an A. in the other, i'm borderline B/C so i need to do really well on the final to get a B and the final is the day after the first final. i can't drop the second class for major requirement reasons; the other class i can drop--which would probably save me a B on my transcript and also give me much more time to study for my borderline final--without doing any damage except having taken only 3 classes my senior spring. will this ever come back to hurt me if i do it?

I got asked for my transcript at 2 of ten firms I applied for 1L summer, but even those two didn't treat it as anything more than a formality.

question: they asked for your official transcript, right? not unofficial? some summer jobs in UG have asked for unofficial (i guess to see all your hidden dirty laundry). does any job after you graduate ask for unofficial ever?

I believe an unofficial transcript is asked for when they don't want you to have to go to the registrar and get a sealed embossed official document. Both will show the same information.

not at my school--unofficial shows information about classes that were dropped etc in ways that the official doesn't. official looks better in my case. anyways, if i can provide the official then im not too concerned.

Ah, I stand corrected, I'm sure it is a case-by-case issue, sorry to generalize.

I interviewed for a number of firms ranging from V100 all the way up to V5. Out of the 20 or so firm interviews I had, exactly one of them required a UG transcript.

I recently talked with someone that had been laid off from a biglaw firm and is currently looking for another job. They said it was pretty crazy that not only did some employers unexpectedly ask to see their law school transcript, but that they even had a request to see their undergraduate transcript. This may be unique to this person because they do IP, but I still found that anecdote to be pretty wild.

I for one hope that employers request to see my UG transcript.

OCI interviews or actual interviews.
