Actually I read once that in their lifetime, a college graduate will make $1 million more than someone who does not graduate from college.

I would assume that, on average, law school grads make more than their undergrad only counterparts.

So, making "millions" isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Yes.

Law Schools (at least mine) do have forms of peer grading but never students from in the same class. For LRW assignments a writing fellow (usually a 2L or 3L) grades everything except for the final exams (final makes up 80% of the course grade) and Mock trial, Moot Court, and Journals (including the main one) students grade the submissions and choose who makes it.

So there is some forms of peer grading, but the most important grades for classes are always done by professors in my experience.

Making 7 figures over a lifetime, sure. But you clearly knew that isn't what he was talking about. Making millions yearly, is out of the realm of probability.

OTOH, I did have one class where 2Ls were given my work to review and comment on, but it was a pass/fail assignment...

I went to Reed for a while... Definitely not the ideal undergrad to go to if you are interested in law school (unless you are a true f-ing genius). The main distinction that I am aware of about the grading at Reed is that it is very deflated compared with other schools. In my experience, a 3.2 at Reed was as hard or harder to get than 3.6/3.7 at other colleges (I went to 3 undergrads).

OTOH, I think it is kind of cool that Reed really does put an emphasis on learning for the sake of learning. It is a very intellectually stimulating place (though perhaps too much emphasis is put on intellectual pursuits). Reed stopped reporting to US News a number of years ago because they thought the rankings are BS. It screwed them in UG rankings, but their median SAT score was above 1400 last time I checked, so they still attract some of the best students. Also, I think the fact that both Steve Jobs and Christopher Langan (supposedly the worlds highest current IQ, or one of them) attended there is pretty cool.

Maybe eventually some top law schools will stop reporting to US News...
