Top Law Schools

Let's say you have to get a joint degree with your JD (gun to your head). Which ones do you think would be the most useful and why? Obviously depends on your interests.

Naturally I would think MBA is near the top of the list, but I've also thought an MS in Econ or a hard science might be helpful. My latest idea is a stats degree, though, since statistical models seem to show up a lot in evidence, and being able to analyze/criticize them effectively would be a nice skill.

Not looking for personal advice necessarily. It's more of an academic question.

I want to work for a university though, so it's obviously very tailored to my interests/goals.

Anything in your practice that requires knowledge beyond the law you have to hire an expert for anyway. Joint degrees are pretty useless unless you do (like above) have a really specific career path that virtually requires it.

It's a waste of your time otherwise. IMO it can harm you too. A friend was questioned like crazy about his journalism joint degree program during interviews because it seems like he can't make up his mind of what he wants to do.

Well I know some employers do not really hire people with joint degrees but idk how many do that or what kind of employers don't. If I was going to get a joint degree it would be in econ because I like it but I bet accounting might actually be of some value to some practices.
