So... about public international law... HYSCCN

I've been lurking on the boards for some time, so I'm pretty aware of the general antipathy towards the idea of international law, i.e. that there are exceedingly few positions around and the vast majority of them go to HYS grads, so one should be disinclined to splash out large amounts of money for a degree at AU, etc. for a shot. If, however, I've managed to gain acceptance at some combination of HYSCN, would any one school be a particular good choice?

Yes, I know, but I'm assuming that those schools will also be offering substantial scholarships which might offset the fact that I won't make a huge deal of money. I also assumed that a NY location (or strength of faculty, or any of the other hundreds of features of a law school that isn't its US News Ranking) might possibly make some amount of difference. I could easily be wrong about this, but hey, that's why I'm here.

Have you applied to schools yet? Do you have an LSAT score yet?

Dude, no one here knows. This board is eminently practical (not a lot of international law types) and there just isn't much of a sample size to go with.

Y> H > S > Col > Chi > NYU... sorry if you were expecting something more spectacular?

Legal department of major IGO, probably with several back-and-forths with my country's DoS.

No; 178/3.92

Mm, yes, I've been figuring as much. But thanks though.

Sorry dude.

Find somebody who has your dream job, and ask them what to do. I suspect the advice will be more meaningful as it relates to what languages to learn, what contacts to make, where to summer, what to write about, etc., than it will be which school among HYS to choose.
