Exchange program GPA! Please help

Post by candy1234 » Fri Apr 29, 2011 1:42 am

Hello,

Im doing an exchange program in Asian country. Their GPA system is SO different from LSAC (4.0 for A+, 3.0 for A, 2.0 for B..) and so my gpa on transcript is 3.7 (6 A+s with 2 As) but LSAC GPA is 4.23.

How will LSAC report it as?
are there any ppl going to law school from Asian universities? How did you guys' GPA turn into?

--

Also, I heard I need not report my exchange program GPA if my exchange program is less than a year. So IF my GPA will be reported as 3.7 on LSAC, will I be wise to quit the exchange program now (the second semester hasnt been begun) if my original GPA at home institution is higher? Because if I get like 10 A+s with 4As and end up like 3.6 after the second semester, my LSAC GPA will go down, which will not occur if I quit the program now (because i need not report anyways).

Thank you

Question:

Are you transferring credit to an American university? I did a semester abroad in a foreign college (actually did much better there relative to my peers - highest GPA in the program i.e. opposite of my undergrad).

If you're just straight up in an Asian university, your GPA kind of doesn't count - your LSAT will be your end all be all.

I'm not sure how this is a problem.

LSAC will convert it differently - probably in your favor - than your home institution
