Top Law Schools

Ok, so I'm hoping it doesn't actually come to this, and if it actually does I will contact admissions at the law school I'm headed to, but just thought I'd ask out of curiosity in case someone has had experience with this.

What happens if, thanks to one required course, I don't graduate (from undergrad) until the end of the summer? I've already put my seat deposit down, and aside from this one course I will have fulfilled all my undergrad requirements.

This one course, I was planning on testing out of, but that is proving to be more difficult than I was originally led to believe.

Do I not get to go to law school in the fall, even if I take the one missing course and graduate this summer?

If anyone has experience with this your feedback is appreciated.

It almost certainly won't matter. I'm in the exact same boat, called and double checked before depositing. They basically said yeah that's fine and thanks for asking first.

Yeah I'm going to call them in the morning, but I just figured this out today and admissions office was closed already. Now I won't be stressing about it all night.

As long as you've spoken to them about it so they're expecting it, and you get your diploma before your first day of law school, you should be fine. They'll want you to demonstrate a plan to get your degree by the end of the summer, but it sounds like you can explain that easily enough.

I'm finishing the last of my credits in the summer also and they said it was fine.

This isn't an unusual situation. I believe all you need is to have your degree prior to beginning law school, so just make sure the class ends before August.

Not even prior. I'm technically getting my degree in October, even though my classes end in the summer, but as long as your uni sends out a letter certifying that your requirements are complete and that you're graduating you can matriculate in the fall. Every school I called to was understanding about this except Northeastern which basically told me no, that I shouldn't bother applying.

That's weird about Northeastern. Oh well, sounds like their loss.

Anyway, I contacted my admissions office and sounds like it's probably no big deal.
