LSAC Gpa calculation question

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is a stupid question or not, but how does LSAC calculate the units of each class for your overall GPA? What I mean is, is an A in a 2 unit class worth the same as an A in a 5 unit course? Am I making any sense with my question?

Yes, you make sense. They are different. Your GPA is total point-hours / total hours. An A in a 2-unit class gives you 4*2=8 point-hours, whereas an A in a 5-unit course gives you 4*5=20 point-hours.
For example, let's say you took one of those two classes, and got a B in a normal three-hour course.
GPA 1 = (4*2 + 3*3)/(2+3) = 17/5 = 3.4
GPA 2 = (4*5 + 3*3)/(5+3) = 29/8 = 3.625
