McClurg's 1L of A Ride was really helpful to me. I still look at it from time to time when I feel the need to refocus.

Kant, but no Mill/Benthem? You'd get eaten alive in crim law, going on and on about retributive justice while everyone else has already mastered incapacitation/rehabilitation/deterrence.
