Top Law Schools

I always hear this being thrown around whenever I bring up my dreams of becoming a lawyer. So many people, including the students within law school seem so pessimistic about the legal field. Can someone please point out the optimistic things about the legal career? Law school seems competitve, rigorous, and if you have the stamina to deal with the education aspects, what takes your mind off all of the negative feedback from the community?

My law school library is like a regular Studio 54.

So is the stereotype true? Or are people more focused on the numbers around them while in law school? It is also said most students who take up big law end up pulling out within five years? What makes driving for it a good idea then?

This is quite normal in undergrad, wouldn't suggest trying it twice.

It's generally aimed at lawyers though, so I'm just trying to figure out if people in law school have this habit or not.

I'm sure it's like anywhere else. Some people probably do it, not a majority, and you can probs find it if you really want to.

But only a minority receive big law jobs straight out of school right? They all love to complain about the long, stressful hours and what not - but are they the only ones suffering with long hours (in the legal world)?

If it is popular, people don't talk about it. I've only heard of one or two people doing cocaine in my year, more smoking pot.

For all I know, it could be popular, but it isn't really talked about.
