Top Law Schools

Hey all,

My majors are in the liberal arts and in business. I've recently had the opportunity to take some science classes, and I absolutely love the way they're panning out. I think I would like to do something in public interest/patent/educational law (though I concede knowing very little about these fields as a 0L). I'm sure of my desire to be an attorney, but I'd really like to take some science classes at the university I attend for law school (for both personal enjoyment and to explore the possibility of engaging science in my legal practice).

My question: I've already submitted, but is this something I should make apparent to law schools I've applied to? Will they care? If so, how should I go about doing so?

If you like science why law?

Patent law isn't science.

Like I said, I want to practice law. But I enjoy science, and I might want to have contact with it as a lawyer--at the very least, I want to take some classes for personal enjoyment. So: will my desire to do this matter to schools?

8 years later, there is still a wallet-sized periodic table in the case of my Ti-92. It didn't fit as well in the -89's case.

Don't worry. Once you're in law school, as a practical matter, you won't be interested in taking science courses anymore. These delusions are fun to entertain as a 0L though, I'm sure.

89-Titanium got me through three years of electrical engineering. I respect the titanium.

My non titanium got me through 4 years of EE.

go to UC Davis, they offer masters degrees in whatever you can set up with other departments along with JDs.

I would like to get a MS in CS along with the JD. Stanford's would be best.

Same reason I should've upgraded to the 92. Even the titanium 89 wasn't enough to get me through with a worthy GPA.

@OP: If you are truly interested and want to take science classes then by all means take them. Just make sure they do not drop your GPA. Also, schools most likely won't care at all whether you took science classes because USNews doesn't care.

No titanium TIs yet when I was in school. Had to make do with the plastic. On the bright side, the professors hadn't yet figured out that we could perform operations on matrices on the TIs and so had not yet banned calculators from vector calc tests. Woot.

Huh?? Most real science classes dont require anything higher than college algebra with maybe a little calc. Unless you are attempting to show that only physics=real science?

Most natural sciences are not calculator heavy. You guys are talking about engineering classes. I did not need a graphing calculator nor a computer (only for typing/printing) for my UG studies.

Huh. Guess I was just imagining carrying my -92 through four years of chem and physics. (Engineering major, chem minor) Thanks for setting me straight.
