Online Classes?

I am currently an undergrad and I'm taking most of my classes online at ASU because I work Monday-Friday almost full time. I'm not sure if it will show up on my transcript or not that I took these classes online since it is at a major university, however I'm worried that there is a way for law school admissions to see this. Will they look down upon me for taking online classes?

They can tell at U of A usualy. Not sure about ASU, depend on if the course # is different.

When I begin applying to schools, will I have a lower chance of being accepted because I took so many courses online to get my undergraduate degree?

No clue. It might hurt you a little bit and would put more emphasis on your LSAT score.

I don't think they'll really care. Most schools have some online courses and I bet many applicants have some on their transcripts. In theory they're not supposed to be any easier/harder than the same class in person. Your grades will matter, not how you took those classes.

Why dont you call and ask. It shouldnt hurt you because youre still attending an accredited "traditional" institution.

Are any law schools known for having law lectures available online for students if they miss class or are out of town?

That's true. I was just really thrown off because this morning my roommate, who is a biology major, went to her advisor and he strongly suggested to steer clear of online classes if you want to pursue a graduate degree. However, this guy's area of expertise is in science, not law, so I'm thinking maybe he was wrong. Sure, I can see medical and pharmacy schools frowning upon someone who took a biology or chemistry class online, but pre-law students? It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Well, in my experience, online tests are easier but learning the material is harder. At my school it isn't visible whether it was regular, online, or hybrid so it is possible that they won’t even know.

I'm pretty sure my school (UCF) doesn't have a way of showing whether a class was online/on campus. I actually ended up taking a lot of online classes because they weren't offered on campus. I took classes such as real estate law, estate law, and domestic relations law online because there very few or no options to take them on campus. IMO online classes are more like high school than college. There is a lot of weekly busy work and you have to have a pretty good understanding to be able to get the weekly assignments done but the exams are easier.

Oh, one more thing - the law schools at ASU and U of A won't care at all.
