Signing Essays?

Post by lawyer » Thu Nov 04, 2010 4:58 pm

I was considering scanning my signature and pasting it at the end of the personal statement/optional essays and was wonderning if this is wise or moronic?

Also, is it good idea to type your name (full name or only last name) in the header (or anywhere) of your essays? If so, left or right alignment?

Yeah, so, gonna go on ahead and strongly advise to not do the whole scan your signature thing. And as far as the headers go, {full name, personal statement, LSAC #} That's what you're going to write. You can also number the pages as well.

Have a secretary sign it. That will make you seem more professional and lawyerly.

Upload your signature here and we will judge whether you should add it or not.

I printed and signed my LOCI's to schools I got waitlisted at. HIGH success rate with the tactic.

Why would you sign it? Are you trying to ratify a contract or something, or otherwise endorsing your essay as to make it look like you approve of it? I would assume you approve of your essay (else why would you be submitting it?) AND that you are not a statesman where a signature would be an honor to the reader, and so your scribbles are unnecessary and pretentious at best.
