Literal definition: After tier 1 in the US New rankings.
TLS definition: Any school outside of the T14, though we cast disapproving glances at GeorgeTTTown and Cornell.

Correct. The unofficial second tier begins at 51.

When the economy is good: t1 top50, t2 50-100, ttt the rest.
Now: HSYCNMV,UTEXAS And a few schools loose their TTT status if they are free, like wustl
