Top Law Schools

Has anyone out there attended/Is anyone currently attending one of these two programs as a visiting student from another law school? I'd like to stay away from discussion about other dual degree programs, other standalone LLM Tax programs, or other LLM programs, or how useless LLMs in Comparative or Environmental Law are. I've seen the LLM flowchart.

I'm interested in starting a discussion about all aspects of these two programs. How competitive is admission? Is taking LLM courses your third year overwhelming? How are the job prospects? Does NU require WE for this program like they do for admission to 1L? That type of stuff...

I searched and couldn't find any threads in the forums about this, but links to those threads (if they exist) would be appreciated too.

NYU is the far superior LLM program. LLM admissions are easy- it's about getting into the JD program.

Why not go to NYU for JD only, get a firm job, then get an LLM? Firm will pay for it.

Because it's risky if you want an LLM afterwards, some firms will simply kick you out knowing you will go back to school, some others just don't want to pay for the LLM, not every firm gives free rides to their Associates.

So go for the JD/LLM for Tax practice, if you just want to be more marketable in-house and other Business jobs, simply go for a JD/MBA, much more reliable.
