Applying to Schools Now and Retaking the LSAT Question

Okay so this answer probably exists on TLS but I couldn't find it. I got my Oct LSAT back and it was a disappointing 167 (I have a 3.8 and pretty good softs). I've adjusted my schools to Georgetown, Cornell, Duke, Penn, UVA, Northwestern, UCLA, USC, BU, BC and GW. I know there are a lot of reaches in there (I attend one of them now which may help a bit) but I figure one may bite (and I did get a surprising number of waivers).
If I choose to retake in December (my PT median was 171 so it may be worth it) and indicate that on my application will schools hold my app until they receive it or will they consider it with the 167 and then relook at it after receiving my Dec score if they didn't already admit me? I ask because for a school like Cornell or even Georgetown, i have a shot as it stands now without the retake.
