Reservist/Guard during 1L

I beleive this question may have been asked before, but the questions I have are a little more specific.
First, for those of you who are traditional reservists/guardsman who do the 1 weekend a month drill during law school, how much difficulty did this cause with 1L studying, and what management role (if any) did you have to juggle (i.e. chief, superintendent, etc). Normally, drill is only 4 4-hour periods on Sat/Sun, but did the unit ever put pressure on you to do RMP days based on your role during the drill period?
Second, if you had to schedule your Annual Tour during the summer, how did this effect any potential internship opportunities during 1L and 2L summer.
Finally, is BigLaw & Traditional Reserves/Guard compatible, or do the firms look down on that?
The reason I'm asking is my separation date is coming up in January. I'll have 13 years total active service in by then and plan on starting law school next August (hopefully). I've been told I have the opportunity to transfer to inactive so that I could rejoin when school is completed and not lose my place, but I would rather stay in to continue towards completing my 20 for retirement qualification. The annual tour has me a little more worried, because my base has its major inspection in Dec 2011 (right at 1L exam period) and I'm not sure if this will conflict with exam week or not.
Thanks
