Yeah, mine is starting to tear. I got mine from bestbuy, but I somehow managed to lose my receipt. Assume I'm screwed?

I like the swiss gear bags too. They're very attractive, in a manly way. And solid.

I suggest a roller backpack. Not only will you look professional, but you will prevent any undue strain on your body. Law students are a gentle breed. We do not like physical exertion. Why else would we choose a profession that requires us to sit for 12 hours at a time? Our toughest physical strain is going to the bathroom, typing, and keeping our eyelids open. I barely walk further than from the law school library to the moot court room, and even then I often just scoot around on an office chair. Hence, I suggest to you the roller backpack: the greatest invention that mankind has ever created.

I challenge that statement. Whenever I see someone with a roller backpack I want to kick it, stomp on it and slap the pull-ee in the face because they are 99% of the time obese and lazy. Plus they just look absolutely retarded.

Unless you want to get made fun of behind your back, purchase a standard backpack with a laptop compartment. Anything else such as a man purse or wheeled bag is unacceptable.

I got the biggest backpack I could find back in the day, a Targus backpack. I didn't have a laptop back then but it has a slot in the back that perfectly fits my 15" mbp with room to spare. The only problem is that it most definitely NOT waterproof, at least after three years of use.

I have a green canvas laptop back I bought at Microcenter. I carry my laptop, accessories, usually a SLR camera, 2-3 note books, 2-3 text books on a daily basis. It is very heavy, but the bag is sturdy and I never had any problems with it. It looks less geeky, I recommend it.

i adore everything jansport makes, and would like to second the 18-yr-old virgin bit.

I have an Eddie Bauer backpack roughly like this one that I've been using the past four years, and it held my old 15.7" laptop well. It's stood up to the abuses I've put it through well enough that I'll be keeping it for law school (assuming it continues to last as it has). Now I'll admit that as I'm not a man my particular one is not a "man backpack," but obviously neither is it girly.

That's why I like the case logic one I recommend. It looks different than a normal backpack. I feel like all the other ones look too geegy or "schooly". The canvas one has some hip graphics and looks a lil hip, it looks way more "manly" than the other ones unless you go with one of those survival/mountain climber ones. There are actually motorcycle/urban flavored backpacks in the specialty catalogs I deal with, they are def. more manly but I don't know if they are your cup of tea though.
