I just got Microsoft Office Professional 2008 for Mac and I noticed it didn't come with OneNote. Any recommendations for a similar program on Mac?
Or do most people just use Microsoft Word?

the mac version of word has a notebook-type view with tabs and a handy search function that almost mimcs features of one note. That's what I plan on using.

I downloaded the trial version of both OmniOutliner (OO) and Circus Ponies (CP) after trying Microsoft Word's version of Notebook. MS Word's Notebook took longer to load and didn't seem to have a lot of the same capabilities as CP.
OO seemed more advanced with plenty of extras that I don't feel are necessary, although I plan on looking at it more closely. All-in-all CP seemed to have the best feel and usability for school purposes. It isn't quite as intuitive as I expected and seems to be a little buggy, but once I adjusted the preferences the program seemed to run more smoothly.
There are plenty of notebook programs for Mac users, but after screening several of them, I feel that CP is the best fit for law school.
PS It allows you to outline in the Cornell format, which rocks my world
