Top Law Schools

Forgive me for my ignorance, but can someone explain to me, or direct me towards, the early decision process? Do all schools offer it? How does one go about it? What are the benefits or disadvantages? When does one begin this for the school of choice? Basically what im saying is I have no idea what it means or how I would go about doing it.

Not all school offer it. Some offer Early Decision (binding), others offer Early Action (non-binding).

If you apply ED, you're committing to go to that school if they accept you, period. Even if you get wonderful offers from other schools, if your ED school accepts you, you are bound to withdraw all other apps and attend.

Typically, it decreases your chances for getting scholarship money, but if you have borderline numbers for the school, it will increase your chances of being accepted.

Think long and carefully about doing ED.
