Graduating highest honors question... Forum

I see on many resumes people will put that they graduated magna or summa cum laude. I believe I will graduate summa cum laude, but whether I graduate magna or summa will depend on my thesis committee's evaluation. Should I include summa cum laude and add a note explaining the circumstance, or leave it off in general?

I am graduating Summa cum Laude as well, pending my committe's approval! I know how you feel, and I agree with the previous posters. It hurts really bad to leave it off the CV. The only thing I included in my CV/Resume about it was a line in my awards/honors that described how I was working toward completion of an Honors thesis and they should be able to put 2 and 2 together and see "Graduating in top 1% of class + Honors thesis" and make the deduction of Highest, or at the VERY least, High Honors.

Another point of contention I do see, though, is schools that award "Highest Honors" and people putting "Summa cum Laude", the Latin variant, instead.

How does TLS feel about that?
