GPA increase

Post by meg678 » Sun Jun 06, 2010 11:21 pm

If my GPA for the first 3 semesters was poor (2.5-3.0) but was always a 3.5+ for the other 5 semesters, graduated w/3.45, do you think the admit councils will weigh later semesters more heavily? Have been out of school for a year serving in AmeriCorps national direct (will complete 2 year term of service before entering law school) and after the first 3 semesters of school I took a year off to join the National Guard; grades improved immensely after my return. Thoughts?

Nope, you'll still be considered a 3.45, but perhaps a bit better than another applicant who had the same GPA with a flat trend.
