I've explained a million times. They're immigrants who think if you work hard enough, you can do anything in America, and that other people have had to graduate in a bad economy before and they found jobs, so I could too.

You know how parents get though, always worrying.

Let them know that law school will be there in a year.

If you are sure you can improve yourself as an applicant in a myriad of ways...yes you did the right thing. I unfortunately haven't been employed since graduating in May of 2009 but yet once the returns from my initial cycle came I realized I made tons of mistakes in my applications and in terms of where I applied to. I suppose since you have employment if you have a few major things you feel you can improve on, you made a smart decision.

With your GPA, a 164 -> 168+ score will be a world of difference in the options available to you. You'll be a splitter and thus have an unpredictable cycle, but it'll be monumentally better than what you've got now.
