Background info.... I'm not happy with my choices so I am going to reapply next fall. I have a few questions...

1) What happens to my student loans? I can defer for what, 6 months, then what?

2) What kind of work experience should I look for?

3) What kind of volunteer opportunities should I look for?

4) I'm retaking the LSAT, is the October LSAT too late in order to ED at t14 schools?

5) What do you do about health insurance?

1) What happens to my student loans? I can defer for what, 6 months, then what?

Your loans are defered for 6 months. You will need to consolidate them or you will have to pay the minimum amount for each loan(either $25 or $50). If you took undergrad loans for each fall/spring summer every year you might have as many as 24 loans. I suggest going the Direct Consolidation Route. This will give you 30 days from the consolidation date(the day your loans were supposed to go into repayment), so it in effect gives you ~7-8 months. My first payment was due 8.5 months after I graduated


2) What kind of work experience should I look for?

In this economy, any that will pay the bills and student loans.

3) What kind of volunteer opportunities should I look for?

Its not going to matter one bit when it comes to admissions. If you want to do it.

4) I'm retaking the LSAT, is the October LSAT too late in order to ED at t14 schools?

October is fine. Just make sure you have everything ready to go and if possible submit your applications before you get your scores back.

5) What do you do about health insurance?

Get a job with benefits or hope you don't get sick
