Top Law Schools

At my law school (t20s range), all the first year courses (contracts, torts, civil procedure, con law, etc...) were only one semester each. It seems that all these courses used to be year long courses, which makes more sense to me. There is so much to cover in each of them, a year seems more logical. It was frustrating that during each of my semester courses the professor says it was ok that we didnt cover a topic because it will be on our bar review course. A bar review course should NOT be necessary to pass the bar. It would be nice if law school actually covered most or all bar topics and prepared you to take the bar.

Do any schools still do year long first year courses? If your school does, what's its rank? I wonder if there is a pattern that the top14 do year long or something. Just curious.

At BYU (about 40) we only do semester courses.

Unfortunately, it is. Schools aren't going to require you to take classes in every subject covered by the bar.
