When do I find out?

i think it's protocol if the person you were talking to was not an admissions officer or something like that. Clerical or support staff should not be giving out this information over the phone. Deans can.

Just wait for it.

A lot of schools have policies of not giving out admissions decisions over the phone. I'd wait until the letter comes before wetting your pants (out of joy or dejection).
