What do you think?

I have been trying to decide for months now whether to go to law school or become a school psychologist. If I go to law school, I will be attending Iowa at full cost. I want to focus on public interest law so will leave school having to pay my debt off with the help of IBR. This would run around $300-$500/month for ten years (then my debt will be forgiven), based on the career I choose (legal aid, public defender, etc.) My other option is get my ED.S. is School Psychology. I would graduate with no debt, still fulfill my desire to help by working in low income school districts, and have a higher salary, better benefits, and only work 200 days a year with 7 hour days. My brain tells me to become a school psychologist, my heart pulls me in the other direction. Anyone have an opinion?

Personally if I were in your shoes Id go for psyc. It just sounds like a sweeter deal in general. However if your heart really wants law then go law. I think the most important thing here is choosing the career in which you will have no regrets. If you think you'd be happy being a lawyer despite any amount of debt you may incur then go for it. If you think that you'd truly enjoy your life as a psyc and will never have that lil voice in the back of your head asking "what would life be if you went into law then" you should go psyc.
