Top Law Schools

Just curious what people did. I am a finance major but the job search is tough and I am not ready to go to law school yet by any means. What did you do?

I was an insurance claims adjuster, and later a paralegal.

Taught high school for 3 years.

Another year of undergrad.

In the process of traveling around the world.

/cliche.

Did my masters in engineering and traveled.

starting law school in august. I'm currently working two jobs...one full-time as an assistant manager for a retail store and the other as a part-time key holder for another retail store. I can't even begin to tell you how much I hate my job. My undergrad is in journalism and there was zilch when I graduated, but I was determined to work for a year or so after graduating. So here I am.

did a masters in english and taught in japan for 2 years

I'm getting a masters in Edukashun before LS.

Wrote internet trivia, helped disabled people get jobs, taught high school overseas, community organizer for children's issues, loan processor, waitress.

I worked as a welder/assembler in the indistrial filtration business up until a few months ago. Now I work in Engineering Records. It has all been basically bitch work, but atleast I make a decent living (mid to high 30s).

master's degree + international volunteer work

I majored in finance and am in attempt of finding a job... not going so well right now lol. Trying to find a 9 to 5 job that pays decent money. I plan on attending law school eventually in LA and I am moving out there this summer so these years off will at least let me enjoy California (beaches, mountains, dodger baseball, ect.) Wanted to do teach for america but that was all booked up by the time I got to it lol. What are some other suggestions? I was also interested in the JAG program but I don't see anything I can do to get me closer to that. Anyone know of any finance related jobs in the LA area?????

I started a property management company for banks and investors. I graduated in three years (although with a bad GPA 2.53) and have had some success. I havent heard back from most of the schools I applied to yet, so I dont know if it helps or not but with a 156 GPA it at least offsets it a little bit for the schools Im applying to.

Weezer how old are you and when did you start that company?

I will be doing a year of volunteer work through Americorps (hopefully, I find out tomorrow!)

Worked for 5 years in public accounting. FWIW, I don't really think that it added any benefit in terms of getting into law school, but I don't think that I would have had many of my 1L summer job offers without it.

Earned a PhD in the biomedical field. Been a postdoc while waiting for law school.

Working at a law firm, spending time with the gf, traveling as much as possible, and reading all the books I won't have time to read when school starts.

in order: paralegal, musician, lobbyist, refugee resettlement, taught overseas. i can't imagine having applied to law school any earlier...

I started the company in July 2008 when I was 21. I'm now 23 and have two employees. I was also a finance major
