Top Law Schools

I always wrote out my notes in undergrad. However, it seems a lot of people on here use labtops in class. Is it imperative that I use a labtop for note-taking, or can I stick with the more traditional course of action? Thanks.

Seriously, I'm guessing you are not a "computer person". If computers make you uncomfortable, don't use one for notes.

The vast majority of people will be using laptops unless you have profs (or a school) that bans them.

Personally I like laptops b/c I type faster than I write and have terrible handwriting, and also the laptop makes things easier to organize. Some people prefer notebooks because of the lack of distraction. I've known people in both categories who were near the top of their class.

I do IT work at a high school and you would be surprised how many teachers say/write laBtop. its quite amusing.

To the original poster: Yea it seems like a lot of people on this site are needless jerkoffs. You ask a simple question that requires a simple answer and in return you get insulted, ridiculed and worst of all, noone answers your question! Dont sweat it though.

To answer your question, go with what makes you feel comfortable. I am a 0L, but I will handwrite my notes. I've never used laptops in class and I dont plan on starting now. If for some reason I feel it is absolutely necessary to use a laptop, then I'll use one, but ill be handwriting my notes.

To answer the thread question, some people still write notes via hand in law school...mainly old people who don't know how to use labtops or notepooks that well though. I think using a labtop is a lot more efficient, but then again my handwriting sucks.

note books are the most powerful laptops (they aren't called lap tops because they run too hot to be placed on your lap for an extended period of time)

laptops are less powerful

netbooks are the wimpiest, but cheapest, and are the ones with the really small screens



I've heard fairly credible advice on this site recommending people use netbooks because of their portability. You won't need a notebook because presumably you won't need to do any serious video gaming... you only need a word processor, internet, and not much else. Small screen size could be a pain though, as well as the small keyboard. BUT, I think conventional wisdom says that all three are preferable over pen and pencil notebooks because you don't want to rely on an immobile desktop, or the library's computers (they may be unreliable). Also, it will help you type faster, which seems to be an important skill come exam time.

P.S...I thought the weather term "wind chill," was actually "wind shield," up until about a month ago. Thank god I have a job lined up after law school, right?
